post from http://technofirstonline.com/?p=1492

Communication always remains as an integral part of our life. Without expressions and communication, the development of the society in itself remains under complete darkness. Being a social being, communication plays a very vital role and similarly the modes of communication. The most vibrant and fast developing being telecommunications. Surging ahead with the technologies, telecommunications is the new booming sector. With each and every individual flowing with the waves of telecom and having more than one mobile phone in hand; the telecommunication industry has a surging time ahead with bagful of opportunities of growth and career.

The telecommunication industry has grown beyond boundaries in this 21st century. Right from technologies, features, connections, revenue to impact; telecommunications has gone a great way ahead. Not just worldwide, even the Indian telecommunications industry has grown in a much faster pace and it is estimated that it is the second largest telecom market globally.

According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the number of telecom subscribers in the country increased to 562.21 million in December 2009, an increase of 3.5 per cent from 543.20 million in November 2009. With this the overall teledensity (telephones per 100 people) has touched 47.89. The telecom industry notched up US$ 8.56 billion in revenues during the quarter ended December 31, 2009.

“There have been more innovations globally in telecom than in any other field during the last decade. Telecom is the most commonly used technology that has social and economic impact on the entire society. Therefore, the boom is more visible in countries like India with a large rural population, where connectivity would not have otherwise been possible had it not been for the emergence of Wireless Technologies. In India, Tele density has touched nearly 50% of the population,” says Mr KS Srinivasan CGM of BSNL.

It is estimated that the growth in India is currently very positive with 8-10 million mobile subscribers being added every month. If the pace can be recorded to be true then for sure by mid 2012, around half the country’s population will own a mobile phone. This would translate into 612 million mobile subscribers, accounting for a tele-density of around 51 per cent by 2012.

The Indian equipment market was estimated at US$ 24 billion and according to a study conducted by Nokia, the communications sector is expected to emerge as the single largest component of the country’s GDP with 15.4 per cent by 2014.

“Wireless Telephony has created a new possibility for connecting the remotest areas of the country. India is today the fastest growing Telecom market in the world, with subscriber base expected to touch 1billion (100crores ) by 2013. When we compare this to the subscriber base of mere 2 crores in 2002, we realize the enormous growth that has taken place in this sector in India. Voice connectivity is a reality for every India today, added Srinivasan.

Growth and initiatives

With the development in the telecom sector, each and every industry is on a boom. India’s telecom equipment manufacturing sector is set to become one of the largest globally.
Mobile phone production is estimated to grow to such an extent that it would total up to 107 million handsets by 2010.

Not just urban even the rural population seems to have flown with the waves of the development of telecommunications. Rural India had 76.65 million fixed and Wireless in Local Loop (WLL) connections and 551,064 Village Public Telephones (VPT) as on September 2008. Nearly 92 percent of the villages in India are estimated to be covered with the public telephones.

With the government taking favourable steps to boost the growth, the telecommunications industry is on a huge boom. It has taken many proactive initiatives to facilitate rapid growth. 100 per cent foreign direct investment (FDI) is permitted through the automatic route in telecom equipment manufacturing. The FDI ceiling in telecom services has been raised to 74 per cent. The plan to introduce a unified access licensing regime for telecom services on a pan-India basis, program to connect 66,822 uncovered villages under the Bharat Nirman program; all these are among the few initiatives planned to be undertaken by the government.

Opportunities

With the telecom sector being on such a big boom, the career opportunities are on an equal rise. Lots of opportunities have emerged in the market with such a trend. Not just engineers even diploma holders have plethora of opportunities available. With huge number of players coming into the field, the jobs are being poured on.

The positive growth of the Indian telecom industry with special initiatives from the government, the competition is on a rise. On one hand we have flow of jobs and even poaching being rampant. During the current year with this kind of growth, it is estimated that the salary levels in this sector would see an increase of minimum 20% with more players entering the market. Companies are being forced to accept lower skill levels especially with the outsourced mode where most of the operational and maintenance task being outsourced to managed service providers.

“Telecommunications has lots to offer in the market now. One need to restore the knowledge levels, reshape for the global career opportunities and time with the industrial expectations to be in the field. To remain progressive with your telecom career, you need to keep track of information on where the technology is going, where the industry is headed with technology and architecture, what the characteristics of the available jobs are, what skills are needed & how to upgrade, etc. Precisely, you need to develop a career vision to be able to handle, navigate & demonstrate your expertise in the interview or to your top management. You need to show your flexibility of handling various projects which is actually an integrated broadband network with many components,” says Sanjeev Goel, Telecom trainer & consultant, Centre for TechnologyTraining, Delhi.

Both public secor and private organisations employ telecom engineers. Public sector organizations like BEL, ISRO, DRDO labs, ITI, CDOT; private organizations like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Siemens Communication, National Instruments, Oracle, Honeywell, IT solutions, Digital, Tata Elxsi, Intel, etc; all are into this market.

“With the emergence of advance technologies and the high growth rate of the industry, it hold a lot of promise to the jobseekers. In the future, communication sector is going to employ more people than electronics, computer science or common basic sciences,” adds Goel.

Lifeline of IT

Information technology has always been a major part of the industrial sector of our country. With each and every sector being connected to IT, it has become an integral part. Without the telecommunications industry, IT would for sure have not grown to such an extent. The well evident growth in the IT sector with the growth in the telecom industry shows the interconnection.

“Connectivity is imperative for delivering the benefits of IT to the masses. There is sufficient reliable data which indicates a correlation between internet connectivity in a country and GDP growth. With new technologies like 3G and Wimax, the puzzle of last mile connectivity has been solved. Applications of IT would become more universal and pervasive with virtually every device interconnected, transforming our lives completely. This would have far reaching social and economic impact. The impact would be felt in every spectrum of life including travel, entertainment, business, education and healthcare,” says KS Srinivasan CGM of BSNL.

The vibrant mode of IT and telecommunications has together made the society develop to higher standards. With communication reaching each and every corner of the country, the technology could be made available everywhere. With such a vast development of telecom industry, the IT saw a new wave of reach across the country.

“The IT industry has seen a positive wave with the development in the telecommunication industry. We have lots of projects to handle in the sector now. With the growth in the telecom industry, one could collect the complete database of a region; right from implementation, data collection to activation all are made available with the help of IT industry. With telecommunication being cheap, it is having a huge boom. Information technology and telecommunication together is sure to pave a bright future ahead,” says Ashima Chand, Technical analyst, Infosys.

Future

With so many players in the market, the future is very bright for the telecom industry. With the availability of the 3G spectrum and new technologies; new avenues are being open to the companies. It is estimated that nearly 275 million Indian subscribers will use 3G-enabled services, and the number of 3G-enabled handsets will reach close to 395 million by 2013-end. If the growth will be on the move in such a way, the telecom industry will have a great time ahead.

Making the growth more viable, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has stated that foreign telecom companies can bid for 3G spectrum without partnering with Indian companies. Only after winning a bid, would they need to apply for unified access service licence (UASL) and partner with an Indian company in accordance with the FDI regulations.

“With the new initiatives from the government, the players have lot of space to grow. New players like Uninor making their presence strong in the market; the players are now concentrating on the adaptation of technologies as the mode of development. Coming up with new initiatives to match up with the latest technologies, the career opportunities in the sector would also be on a rise for sometime,” says Baiju M V, Facility management service (FMS), PCS/Idea Cellular Ltd.

With the number of connections increasing, the demand of connectivity would never end for sure. The technology upgrade from 2G to 3G and 4G has developed major opportunities and challenges in front of the major players across the market. It is believed that there will be about 27% growth in employment generation for the sector when compared to the projected growth of 10-12% for IT Industry.

With such vibrant players and emerging technologies, the telecommunications industry has a bright future ahead. Flowing with the wave, career in telecom is on a booming phase. With high estimates and sky reaching targets, the industry would sure create huge tremors across the country.

Demanding high level of project management skills, the telecom industry in on lookout for the right professsionals.

To develop a career in telecom, one need to have:
o Technical, Business, Industry & Marketing skills
o Convergence Technologies & industry Convergence
o Telecom Project Design to Implementation skills
o Test & Measurement Parameters ( T & M ) & Quality of Service ( QoS )
availability
o Tender Document & Vendor Manuals
o Decision on Telecom Investments
o Client Requirements for Technology Solutions
o Technology Comparisons

With the Worldcup football fever entering to the next level of excitement in the pre quarter stage, the big football tournament in South Africa is dripping with stories like a thick layer of frosting on a 10-foot high cake. Will brilliant Brazilian goal-keeper Julio Cesar lead his team to the Cup title? Will Ghana’s Kevin-Prince Boateng, born of a German mother and Ghanaian father, find himself opposing his half-brother Jerome, who plays for Germany and is in the same grouping as Ghana? These stories and much more are instantly available for free on Nokia S60 5th Edition and widget-enabled S60 3rd Edition devices through ESPNsoccernet.

ESPNsoccernet is one in a large stable of sports widgets powered by Plusmo, now a part of AT&T interactive. The widget is a powerful tool that pulls in team and region news coverage, live game visualization, match commentary, team tracking, detailed fixtures, tables, and more. You get not only ESPN’s latest tournament coverage and stories, but also Premiere league and other soccer stories depending upon your choice of team settings.

I tried the app on my Nokia E63. The first step was setting the language, where I had my choice of English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German.

Then, I picked a region of interest from choices that included the five language countries, plus Scotland, the USA, Europe in general, and a global option. I chose England for demo purposes. If I had switched to Europe, I would have also had access to UEFA and Super Cup stories.

With England as a selection, I had a choice of Premiere League and FA Cup stories. I chose the FA Cup, and it then displayed the most recently played match.

Selection of a region determines which sets of stories will be chosen by the ESPN soccernet RSS news feed mechanism.

The icon list on the right-hand side includes my favorite teams (the star icon), schedules of selected teams (the calendar icon), articles about the teams (the newspage icon), and a change settings icon (the three dots). I clicked on the news page icon to see the list of stories, shown below.

Click on the newspage icon to have the RSS feed pull up the current stories about your team(s).

Clicking on any headline brings up the details of that story for perusing. S60 5th edition devices allow touch scrolling, while S60 3rd Edition devices use the rocker key for scrolling.

The full article can be viewed by scrolling, and related articles can be selected and accessed.

At any time, I could also switch my settings to another region or team just by clicking on the three-dot icon. I found that it was better to specify my teams very narrowly in order to sip from the fountain rather than the powerful firehose of all ESPNsoccernet coverage.

Change teams using the three-dot settings icon.

The ESPNsoccernet widget can be downloaded for free from Ovi Store. Take it with you as you enjoy coverage of the tournament this month.

PASSION
“What is passion? How am I to know what my passion is? Why should I know my passion? Should I respect my passion?”
These are just some of the most difficult questions I’ve faced. These questions have invaded and ruled my mind. I’d an answer but it cried for help drowning in the thoughts of money making. I, though late, had helped the answer to life. And thus I’m muSICK.

I was planning to post something that I felt would change a flawed system. Had lots of thoughts pouring in until I sat in front of a paper holding a pen. I was stuck. I just could go a distance of 3 paragraphs and then found many ways to divert and knocked at Mr. Intorpidire’s . I knew he would help me if he’s alive.

He had his say. Write about something like this, ‘the call of the heart being unanswered’. In the sense, Mr. muSICK is muSICK and he’s planning to pursue higher in Engineering.

Mr. Intorpiodire is really against capitalism, industrialization, globalization, imperialism, neo-colonialism, post world war economy, Zionism, fascism, Nazism and… in short, the present social wounds. And now he’s working for a capitalist MNC. (Guess what? I too am against all these. Intorpidireji, kshamapan)

Mr. Neo, from the bottom of his heart wishes to be the most read author in India…. no the world and he’s ended up working for another IT firm.

Miss. RT so badly wanted to be a pilot and she’s now an Engineer. Reason, she’s a girl.

Who are we to blame? We blame fate, our environment, our parents, teachers, the society and never ourselves for being in a place we ought not to be.

A certain percentage of the whole blame, I believe has to come to our logical brain.

Come back. What is passion? Even if the whole humanity tries to define it, it remains incomplete. It’s something more than words. Man has always explained it in actions.

I’m just trying to give some hints to this question. This is the essence of this post, and I’m afraid I’m not perfect at speaking about this magic.

1. It’s something I would be proud to list among my achievements.

2. It’s something I would always try doing to find what we truly call happiness.

3. It’s something I always wish to do to find pleasure in.

4. ………….

5. ……….

Passion is what our souls call for. You never sacrifice love for money if you have found passion.

Ask anyone about their passion. I bet, a major percentage will not answer it immediately. Why? The sad reason is that none has even thought of it. I call them the Money-blinded. This generation (today’s youth) is mostly of this type.

Let’s see how.

Industrialization is good, Right? Seeing all these glamour it has brought, who can blame it to be bad?

Industrialization is the tongue of capitalism that taught men a lie. The lie is that ‘we’re to make money, more money and much more money’.

Here’s the trouble. Money-blinded society cannot be convinced about passion. Glamour seduced society would not understand the true spirit of mankind. We the industrialists are working hard on newer methods to cheaply exploit anything we see. We’ve exploited everything out of the bosom of Mother Nature for money. How sad. We’re in fact selling her out for money!

We claim that the productivity of the world is at its peak and all those stuffs. Are we not ourselves ridiculing? We are criminals. We’ve committed a major crime. We’ve prevented the world from realizing its true productivity. Productivity not in terms of money we made. But, in terms of love we cultivated, pleasure we had. Is it not the true productivity?

Money cannot find love, but passion does. I recall my favorite quote of my favorite author Kahlil Gibran. “Work is love made visible.” Are we making our love visible through what is called Money making?

A guy doing a job which has his passion as an ingredient can never be imagined saying things like this, “Oh, No! I got work today too”. But this is what we hear so much. Such people are tired and fed up with their job. Do you not se the reluctance in such questions?

This is how the cliché is. To work means to finish off all of our God-blessed energy.

Ask anyone who has found their passion as their way of making a living, to say things plainly. They never are fed up of what they do. They are always creative. Creativity is a gift for those who find their passion.

Love to the Nature and not exploitation can help her love us. And Passion can only save the world and its inhabitants. AWAKE, MONEY TAKES US TO HELL.

muSICKally yours,

muSICK

that. Now its been almost 1 and half year of exp but the salary is not at all satisfying

me.This tension is effecting my present work environment also.

So in short this type of profession is not at all made for stability ,if you want to grow

then a person have to shift his job after 1 or 2 years or after 4 years ,the period is such

mentioned cause after talking 1 year exp u can be selected on much better salary, but

after 4 year of exp in same profession you can be selected as Purchase Manager, which

is much more satisfying post in every way.

Do not do any computer course if u want to opt for this post, cause its useless.

THIS JOB IS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE VERY HIGHT MENTAL STABILITY AND

CONFIDENCE ,U NEED VERY STRONG SKILLS OF CONVINCING A PERSON.

BODHI is a youth movement which is an assortment of literature, politics, ethics environment and theatre arts. The very idea of BODHI emanated from the thought that our youth, the baton holders of the future aren’t aware about their society.

There was a time in Kerala, where the youth was in the forefront of activism. Altogether they made “God’s own Country”. Our campuses were places of creative thinking and constructive activism. We made great poets, novelists, politicians and a generation who were reflective enough to preserve our virgin forests like silent valley.

By the advent of the 90’s and the years that followed the grace of our colleges started to decline. The present day youth, like me and lot others are not interested in anything around us. They believe in conspicuous consumption and riding a “BENTLEY” as the ultimate aim of life. They have lost their ability to react. Everyone is immersed in careerism without ethics. This day youth don’t think about a new idea or a change. They don’t even have a writer or a politician from this generation whom could be proudly projected or quoted. All they know is to scorn anyone who comes with a new idea. Common sense could easily predict the future of such a generation. Most of us are behind alcohol, hypocrite spiritualists or religious superstitions. A change is necessary and most important. From inactiveness and ignorance the youth should come forward to change the very face of this lukewarm scenario. They should try to regain the lost creativity and reflexes, even if it happens to be a slow process.

“BODHI” aims at such a change. The light held by one will help many others to walk their path amidst darkness, “BODHI” searches for the pioneers who could hold this light. The aim is not a convulsion of the system but a slow change. Hundreds may term this venture ludicrous, but if “BODHI” could create awareness about the very world their society runs to a handful, for say five people, that should be regarded as the success of “BODHI”. Let me tell you my dear friends, this is our 11th hour, if we don’t change or at least try to change, its brunt will be unbearable. If we don’t try to change this scenario, in future we will not even have the right to contrite for what we have done to our society and nature. So let’s stop all our squabbling and focus on the issues we have hitherto. Issues about our rivers and forests, issues about the global warming. What we do now will make history. Let’s join hands now for a better tomorrow

It’s been a long time since i visited the blog. The life as a trainee in a Software industry is really pathetic. You will be under tremendous pressure and the timings are hectic. But now as i won the battle and hardships, thank God i’ve got a little relief. But the major difference between a college life and this life is that you can consider yourself the luckiest person in the world if you find real friendships.Everyone here are considered to be RESOURCES and so everything is business.

The dusk was being invited to the stage of the life of that day and he could see the sun bidding farewell to the day.”Thank God, the building is high so that I can at least see the world from here”. He thought while standing there on the 10th floor of that SEZ Business area which we people will call as Park. I don’t know why. But now our discussion is about him, the person whom we call as an engineer or something else in an Information Technology domain. His thinking was relevant because it had been long since he enjoyed that ambience in real.
But his company was really good. It knew those problems. That’s why it got dressed up in green. The garden, fountain, palm trees, ornamental plants everything made it look like a park. (This might be the reason why it’s called as a park). Even the company wanted it’s people to mingle with the nature. That’s why, they have Bonsai plants in the cubicles and tables. Though some nature lover’s preach that Bonsai culture is against nature’s laws, why should we mind that till the day it intakes CO2 and gives us back O2. Anyway, Bonsai’s also mingle with the monitors and processors very well. That’s why the leaves of the great Banyan, sorry the little master Banyan near his monitor dance in joy when the code runs perfect and droops when he struggles inside the heap of warnings and errors.
He came back to the seat and started his glorified stenography and compiled. The leaves of the little master were still in drooped state. It didn’t improve it’s condition and he didn’t know what mistake he committed. He tried his best to find a solution in Goooooooogle but was not able to find one to solve the error. The compiler was still giggling.
He looked into the Bonsai sorry the little master Banyan. He remembered the large Banyan tree in his ancestral house. It was in a village in one of the northern districts of the so called God’s own country. “This is summer no?” he asked himself. He remembered the summers in his childhood when he used to go to that village from the town to celebrate the mid summer vacations. He usually waited for the 31st of march. The banyan tree stood in the corner of the large playground near to his house. That ground used to witness a lot of Sachins and Maradonas during those times. Was he one of those? Yeah he used to tell that but none others used to. He still remembers that past noon, around after 4’0 clock when he went out to play a wonderful innings. The meal was a ver good one with ‘Mambazha pulisseri’ made from delicious mangoes and ‘Chakka avial’ made from jackfruit which made him sleep a lot that afternoon. He was running into the ground with a fear of being late. No,he was not late. He started the innings and was in a good form. That gigantic shot from his bat went a long distance and broke through the thickness of the leaves of that Banyan tree. The fielder at the boundary told that he didn’t see it falling down. So he had to climb up the tree. The tree was a sacred one. The idols of the snake God and Goddess were there below those huge lateral supports. There was always a smell of turmeric near that place. His grandfather used to warn him not to go there after telling the stories of the ‘sarpams’, the sacred snake Gods because that habitat was meant to them and not to be disturbed. He was hesistant to enter the place but his friend told “No problem da, if you see any sarpams just pray, they will not harm us because we are kids. They are Gods and are not like the ordinary snakes.” He believed those words and entered but fainted there inside. He doesn’t remember what happened. Might be the hot sun would had been the culprit or the existing fear in his mind related to those stories might be. But everyone believed that place had some power and he also believed or he liked to believe in that way only. The next day the family arranged for a special pooja and ‘sarpam thullal’ as an offering to the ‘Nagaraja’ for that mistake. He still remembers the large picture of the ‘Nagaraja’ the snake God that was drawn using those colour powders. That was marvelous piece of art. How wonderful, calm was that life. The thoughts were innocent. The love towards nature was a kind of devotion. It was a worship. The nature was the mother. He found out the reason behind those stories and the reason why his grandfather told not to go inside that place. The scientific world explained such places as a ‘Habitat’ and listed in the protected domains. Several kind of endangered species of plants which has tremendous value in medical field is found in such habitats. They were the resource for the water. Scientists even have evidence of special energy radiance found from such places. But who cares. It’s the fast moving world and fast moving culture. The last time he went there, it was some 2 or 3 years back, there was not even a single thing that could remind him that the place was the old one where he used to play. No Banyan tree , no ‘Nagaraja’. Some construction work was going on. The board in that site displayed ‘SEZ-Site for Tech park. Trespassers will be prosecuted’. Even he was a trespasser there.’
He thought ‘ At that time I was a human, I knew to think with heart also. I knew to enjoy my life.I used to love nature. I was an innocent common man who used to believe in those small small things which the modern mechanised IT world doesn’t even have time to think about.I’m being forced..no we all are being forced to be like that. It’s not our mistake. It’s all God’s decision. One day everything will come back after the great big bang or the ‘Mahapralayam’ the great flood that my grandmother used to describe from the ‘Mahabhagavatha’.’
He looked into the Bonsai and thought ’At least I have this to remind me of the past, don’t know the day this will also disappear………………But what’s the difference between it and me. No difference. Both of us stopped growing physically and intellectually. I’m also the member of the same family ‘Bonsai humans’’
Still the compiler was giggling.
