First and foremost, this is not actually a scholarship but a financial assistance meant for financially deprived students. As a selection criteria to find the apt student, we keep tracking his/her merit also.We have our own methods to track this and we use certain criteria to filter.Additionally,as the name suggests it is just a financial assistance and does not guarantee to cover the complete expenses of the selected student. But we wish to make sure that the amount is not negligibly small compared to the average expenses of a student (in future also). We have a fixed capital for this endowment and we wish to sponsor only that much amount which we are sure, will not go down in future and possibly go up as time passes.
At present we plan to select one student each from 2nd , 3rd and 4th year (with atleast one university exam result  published).
As of now the 2nd year students don’t have any university results published, so we will wait till the S1-S2 results are published and then collect application and select one student.
For 3rd and 4th year students, this is the time for submitting applications.Students can collect applications from , and return the filled-up applications to their HOD.
Last date of applications (as of now) is 16/10/2009. It will take a minimum of two weeks to select the students and without much delay we will be distributing the specified amount.2nd year students can apply immediately after the S1-S2 results.
In 2009, each student will get a sum of Rs 15000/- as the financial aid and we suppose the student will use this amount for his/her academic expenses.
At present we don’t have a student database, but in future we wish to keep a student database to select students from them. So there is no assurance as of now that a student will be receiving the aid for all the 3 years.
I think the details are clear.
If you have more doubts please let me know before you publish this.
Or you can contact  Raji A of Electronics department

CAT 2009 Notification(Common Admission Test)

CAT has become one of the most competitive exams to judge the potential of the candidates willing to pursue their career in business administration.
CAT 2009 to be Online
The new computer-based test (CBT) will be embraced by IIMs across Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Shillong, and will allow students to select a date convenient to them from a specified period of 10 days. The new system is also expected to help the IIMs cope effectively with the increasing number of candidates every year. While around 95,000 candidates took CAT in 2003, the number rose to about 250,000 last year, reflecting a growth of over 163% and bringing the administrative system under severe pressure.
“With the online test, CAT will be similar to the GMAT test in its process
