maleThis week I had the fortune of attending a press meet at The Taj Residency in official capacity where ace film director Ranjith presented his latest venture Kerala Cafe which is a collabrative effort of 10 different directors. Each one of them directs 10 different chapters woven together under the common thread of Yathra or travel. The approach was absolute fascinating and I am looking forward to this movie. I had the good fortune to interact with noted film maker Shayamaprasad and to a question by me regarding revivalism in Malayalam for good refreshing movies which is now being experimented in Tamil he said that like minded people who had the interest to produce quality films should come together as in Kerala Cafe to bring out more such good films. The same view was echoed by Ranjith who is the architect of the project where he brought together his friends for Kerala Cafe. Mr Mohanlal Menon the Director of Black Water Entertainment Pvt Ltd who produced the movie said more creative projects under the Blackwater banner is in the pipeline and for this purpose the company is in talks with leading film makers. The initial preview and the interaction with the crew was enough to impress me and the feedback to the queries I got from them convinces me that this movie will click and good movies have not disappeared but are waiting to be made.
